1. Do you need a Vietnam VISA to enter Vietnam?

Most tourists travelling to Vietnam will require an entry visa, regardless of how long they plan to stay in the country.

When you complete VISA application, the Vietnamese agencies abroad will process your VISA application. Your VISA is issued after 2-3 days

 

2. Vietnam VISA exemption for some nations

Vietnam offers visa exemptions ranging from 14 to 90 days to citizens of 24 countries holding valid ordinary passports.

·         Vietnam visa free for 14 days: Brunei, Myanmar

  • Visa free approves for 15 days: Sweden ,Denmark, Russian, Norway, UK, Finland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain
  • Vietnam visa for 21 days and free for: Philippines
  • Free visa for 30 days: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos.

  • The exemptions listed above for Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Japan, South Korea, and Russia are valid until Dec. 31, 2019.

Vietnam visa on arrival is an alternative way to get a Vietnam Visa. After finishing the online application form and paying the process fee, you will rereive your visa approval letter within one hour to two days.It depends on the status of visa processing you have selected. Then, picking your visa approval letter at each of three Vietnam’s International airpot in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang.

You can issue any type of VISA which you need with its maximum validity. Vietnam visa approval letter takes valid from the granted arrival date, not from the date you apply for it or the date it is issued. Vietnamese tourist visa’s validity can be from 15 days to 3 months.

III. THE INNOVATION OF APPLYING FOR VIETNAM VISA: EVISA

1. Definition & usage of Vietnam EVISA

Since February 1st 2017, the Government of Vietnam has inplemented E-visa. The e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization from the Vietnam Government for up to 30 consecutive days, issued in PDF format. It is the equivalent to a visa, but no stamp or label is placed in the passport.

2. The validity of Vietnam EVISA

An e-Visa is single entry and valid for a maximum of 30 days.

3. Requirements and process to get a Vietnam EVISA for business and travel purposes.

After filling the online form for e-visa provided Vietnam Immigration Department, you are asked for electronic payment information. It costs US$ 25 (or VND 550,000) as the EVISA service fee. If your request is refused, the fee won’t be refunded.

Note: Vietnam e-Visa Requirements:

·         A passport with six (6) months’ validity

·         A photo in .jpg format of your full passport data page

·         A passport photo in .jpg format (4x6, white background, without glasses)

·         A valid international credit or debit card

·         An email address for support purposes

·         A temporary address within Vietnam

·         Your entry and exit dates and entry and exit points/airports

Payment method is required through electronic payment gateways like Visa or Mastercard. The service fee is prescribed as US$ 25 (or VND 550,000) in the official website of Vietnam Immigration Department for applying EVISA.

IV. VIETNAM VISA EXTENSION AND RENEWAL

It is possible to extend your Vietnam visa for temporary staying permission in Vietnam with purpose for travelling, studying, business and others. Extending Vietnam visa must be applied some days before your visa expired date. Your current visa has to be correspondent to your staying extending requirement. For example: if you apply for a 3-month tourist visa, you can extend it for another 3 months

Visa renewal is good for those who wish to get a new visa without leaving Vietnam. The staying length is valid maximun in 3 months. More over, renewal visa fee is higher than extension visa because you have to pay stamping fee and visa sticker fee.
