Dragon Eyes Cruise on Mekong River 2 Days

Mekong Cruise

Dragon Eyes Cruise on Mekong River 2 Days

From

$431

The Dragon Eyes is a vacation paradise for couples, families or friends. Cruising on the vast waters and the small canals of the mighty Mekong River is a great way to discover the Mekong Delta.

The two sister boats Dragon Eyes I and Dragon Eyes II were built in the traditional style of the Mekong Delta riverboats. Their elegant, slender and shallow hulls enable the Dragon Eyes to cruise the secondary side canals of the Mekong River which are too small for the large cruisers to explore. There we find the serene and timeless riverfront life that makes the Mekong Delta so unique.

At the same time, the river cruise boats are big enough to provide you with ample space for relaxation and privacy. Each of the Dragon Eyes provides around 100 m2 for its guests and is just like a floating hotel.

Two spacious private cabins (14 — 16 m2) provide a nicely designed bathroom, French balcony, sitting area, individual air conditioning, fans and fantastic Mekong River views through the panoramic windows.

From the comfort of the air-conditioned indoor lounge, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the Mekong Delta through the large panoramic windows.

On the sun deck on the top deck, you can sunbathe while watching the scenery pass by. Indulge in the culinary specialties of Vietnam in the covered outdoor restaurant or enjoy a sundowner in your private bar on the top deck — all with fantastic river views.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Panorama River Cruise (L,D)

In the morning we take you to Can Tho or Cai Be and you board the comfortable wooden Dragon Eyes river cruiser around noon. After a refreshing welcome drink, we show you the onboard facilities and your cozy cabin. As lunch is served, the boat sets sail. Sit back and observe the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong people.

In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through a village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits. Back on board enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent watery landscape of the Mekong. The cruise boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious onboard dinner and overnight on your floating hotel in the Mekong Delta.

Day 2: Cai Rang / Cai Be Floating Market – Back to Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)

Wake up well rested to the sound of the river and get ready for another exciting day of sightseeing in the Mekong Delta. At 06.30 the boat sets off for a sunrise cruise. While enjoying an early breakfast watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships.

After breakfast, board a sampan boat to Cai Be or Cai Rang floating market, the region's busiest and most lively markets. Here each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples, sugar cane etc, and to help the customer know where to shop, they hang that item from the highest part of the boat. We will pull up close to the boats to bargain with the merchants. We will also visit some of the local candy and cake-making factories or sail through the lush watery landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards, and ship-building yards. Note: The floating markets in the Mekong Delta are not tourist markets but wholesale markets where the produce of the Mekong Delta, like fruit and vegetables, is traded. For this reason, the number of boats on the market fluctuates depending on the season and market demand. Furthermore, modern wholesale markets are becoming more popular in Vietnam and this can result in decreasing numbers of boats being present at the markets. After brunch on board (Can Tho) or lunch at the Mekong Rest Stop near My Tho we will take you back to your hotel in Saigon.
