Nha Trang is the trendy beach stay of the Southeast coast of Vietnam. As of the 1st of March 2015, its bay will be the host of an innovative product: the first five-star cruise experience on a wonderful junk: Emperor Cruises (www.emperorcruises.com). But let’s discover 10 of the many other reasons making its visitors so delighted. Nha Trang’s climate is particularly pleasant all-year round: sunny, with an average temperature of 23 degrees C. Rainfall is less than anywhere else in the country and storms are rare.
1. Nha Trang has alluring and wonderful sceneries
There are a long list of things to see and places to go for tourists, as it is the place of deserted islands, endless white-sand beaches, deep blue sea, indigenous culture, outstanding landscapes, and historical relics.
The breathtaking beauty of Nha Trang sets it apart from many famous beach cities in Vietnam and around the world. If traveling to Nha Trang, you will be amazed by the magnificent view from all the archipelagoes, islands, mountains and the crystal clear of seawater. The beach is heavenly with long, white stretch surrounded by evergreen palms and casuarina trees.
Moreover, Nha Trang makes its name for the reason that this place is blessed with a rich and beautiful ocean ecosystem with abundant marine reserve. Among 2,00 species of coral kinds in the world, Nha Trang is the home to about 1,500 species – a very impressive number. With that statistic in mind, you can easily imagine how majestic and wonderful underwater life of Nha Trang Bay is, with Vietnam’s highest biodiversity recorded. Most coral lives at 10 meters in depth and becomes the home to hundreds of schools of colorful fish and other marine creatures. It comes as no surprise when scuba diving and coral sightseeing are the most popular activities tourists do when coming here.
Apart from all of its aesthetically natural beauty, Nha Trang is an interesting destination for those loving history and culture. Coming here, you have a long list of noteworthy attractions and we will recommend you some MUST – SEE spots. The Po Nagar Cham Towers of the Cham people was built in the 8th century and is famous for its religious architecture and influences with Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Meanwhile, the in-town church of Nha Trang is stunning and Instagrammable with rays of French-styled stained glass windows along with imposing columns. For Buddhists, the Long Song Pagoda with a giant Buddha statue overlooking the city from a hilltop is quite an experience. There are many more religious and cultural spots that hide away from the multi-layered gardens of flowers and plants in Nha Trang that you should not miss.
But there is more to say: Nha Trang is absolutely and uniquely cosmopolitan. You can find any trendy restaurants, soaring high-rises or chic boutiques in many tourist-crowded streets of Nha Trang. You will be amazed by how diversity and lovely this city is because of all the things, Nha Trang is the perfect combination of urban and coastal features.

You will see that 90 percent of the best restaurants in Nha Trang are local ones with beach view and freshly-caught seafood. Nha Trang is called Vietnam’s seafood capital for a reason. With its diverse marine life, providing fresh and delicious ingredient to any dish, Nha Trang also has an endless supply of fresh fish and shellfish thanks to the waters of the Khanh Hoa coast. So prepare to be full all the time with tempura made from giant prawns, pan-fried squid, grilled red snapper, crab dishes and seafood mix hotspot with some homemade wine.
There are some dishes to satisfy any adventurous eaters coming to Nha Trang, the most popular one is rice vermicelli with jellyfish and To Yen – the bird’s nest soup, which is believed to be very precious and nutritious by ancient Chinese and Vietnamese. This dish used to be royal-family exclusively in the past.

3. The weather in Nha Trang is just right
Along with the sunny and tropical-heavenly weather, this beach city is also endowed with a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
Unlike Saigon, Nha Trang is one of the lucky cities that are not affected by the monsoons that change the whole of southern Vietnam into the water for almost half a year from September to December. This beach city enjoys heavenly sunshine all year round with gentle winds, perfect for a lazy day on the beach or swimming rounds with family and friends. Yet, it is for the best that you schedule your trip to Nha Trang between January and August.
4. The people in Nha Trang are warm, friendly and hospitable
Along with the warm and lovely weather, the people of Nha Trang is one of the warmest and most hospitable ones you will ever see. When you go to a local restaurant, a store or a tourist hot spot, it is common to see locals promote their service or give directions to tourists with a smiley face.
5. It offers gorgeous and magical sunsets.
With its ideal weather mentioned above, it comes as no surprise that this beach city is one of the most majestic destinations to catch the sunrise and sunset in Vietnam.
You need to wake up early, even from 4 or 5 in the morning, but I promise you – the sight is worth it. Every day depends on the weather and seasons, the sky turns pink since 4:30 or 5 AM. And slowly, the rosy hue turns into red, from red to golden bright in a stunning way that rarely any camera can catch it. You can still see some golden halos, hiding behind the clouds with rays of sunlight dripping onto the ground. The process to witness night turns into day never fails to satisfy any tourists coming to Doc Let beach for sunrise watching.
Or, with its highly cosmopolitan features, you can enjoy the sunset on a lazy afternoon at a sky-bar. With a skyline that can rival famous Pattaya and Phuket in Thailand, the nature of Nha Trang brings out an unforgettable visual feast. With the sexy curves of the coastal lines, calm surface, the sunset picture in Nha Trang is more than satisfying when viewed either at a quiet beach or in a luxury bar lounge with a bubbling cocktail in hand.
