What brought you to Vietnam? It was one of my dreams to visit this country so I though it would be a better experience to visit Vietnam and to work over there
What’s keeping you in Hanoi? My friends, my job, the people, the way of life, the scenery
What do you miss about home? Some of my friends, the metro
…what don’t you miss? University!
How do you get around town? By foot or by motorcycles or by bus, it depends of my mood
Where do you go to escape ? On my balcony and I watch people in the street
What’s your favourite Vietnamese word or expression? I don’t really know Vietnamese words or expressions but when Thai, few days ago, mimed someone who shot with a gun, he said something like “Bòm Bòm” I guess, and it was really funny cause in France you say “Pan Pan” and other expression “Vớ Vẩn”.
What’s your favourite local dish? Roasted fish and fruits are awesome!
And what gives you a bellyache? Nothing for the moment
Where would you go on a hot date? At the swimming pool, to get tanned, I know for Vietnamese it sounds weird cause women are really white and it’s a beauty code to be the whitest possible, but in Europe it’s the contrary, everybody wants to get tanned
What tickles you pink? The sun
What in Vietnam makes you go “Ối Trời ơi…”? Rats and big insects
Who would you like to get stuck in a lift with? Benicio Del Toro, my favorite actor, I love him!
….and who wouldn’t you like to get stuck in a lift with? Mr. Barthe, one of my teachers, so boring!
What’s the quickest way to spend a VND1 million? Paying the rent
Who in Vietnam do you most admire? My friend Viet, he’s the nicest man I’ve ever met
What was your biggest thrill living in Vietnam? Beetles and spiders
…and biggest disappointment? For the moment nothing
Where would we find you at 10pm on Saturday night? Outside in a bar
…and 10 am on Sunday morning? In my bed
If the world was coming to an end tomorrow, what would you do? A big party with my family and all of my friends
Your favourite nocturnal beverage? Pina colada
Your show-stopping karaoke song of choice? L’aventurier by Indochine
What will you call your memoirs about your time in Vietnam? It’s time for the adventure!
Who will play you in the film adaptation? Asia Argento, she’s my favorite actress
…and your famous last words? T’inquiète la guinguette (it doesn’t mean anything literally in French, but it means don’t worry).
